Second CAS Interview
Second CAS
interview (october 2019 )
Student’s name: Jan Malicki
1.
What has been
most enjoyable and beneficial for you thus far in CAS?
I
think the most enjoyable and beneficial experience in CAS so far were the
activities I took part in together with my classmates. Not only did they give
me the possibility to discover what skills each of them has, but also gave the
opportunity to learn a lot about cooperation.
2.
What has been a
highlight of creativity? Activity? Service?
For
creativity it was without a doubt the start of my RPG campaign during which I
think I’ve learned a lot. As far as activity is concerned, it really made me
understand the importance of a healthy diet and a fit lifestyle. This way I
just began to feel better about myself. With regards to service, I think it was
the philosophy night in our school that really showed me how an event can bring
different people from the whole school together.
3.
What do you hope
to achieve most from CAS? How can you do this?
I
hope to learn how to find entertainment in different activities, how to earn
satisfaction in the area of service as well as creativity or activity. I think
I plan to further evaluate on my CAS reflections they really do show what is
the most important in CAS and give the opportunity to find some satisfaction.
4.
When have you
investigated, prepared and taken action so far in creativity, activity and/or
service, or with your CAS project?
I
have done all of the actions on daily basis, as far as my CAS project is
regarded, I took the opportunity and did it during the first class of DP.
5.
What have you
developed for your CAS project—your goals, who are you collaborating with,
whether the project involves creativity, activity and/or service, your roles
and responsibilities, and your progress to date?
For
my CAS project, together with a group of friends from class, we’ve collaborated
with a group “Lublin w Siecie Życzliwości”, which is a voluntary group aimed at
spread of positive attitude and feeling of support. We’ve came up an idea to organize
workshop for kids from the primary school. This way, we were not only on peak
performance of our creativity, but also we found ourselves able to actually
teach the small participants of our projects some vital skills.
6.
What have been
the biggest challenges for your CAS involvement, and how have you overcome
them?
My
biggest challenge for my CAS involvement was without a doubt organization. I
overcame it through use of specific apps on my mobile phone which allowed me to
remember about many different tasks I have planned.
7.
What difficulty
has been hardest to overcome? Where might you need support at this time?
Hardest to overcome, was the consistency of
updating my CAS blog. Luckily I found help in my classmates and most importantly my
coordinator, who up till today are motivating me to keep my blog updated.
8.
Have you ensured
an equal balance across the three CAS strands? If not, how will you rectify
this?
I think I have achieved an equal balance,
although sometimes I am lacking a bit of Service, this due to the fact that
usually when I participate in such activities I do not take the opportunity to
document it in a way like photos or videos. To rectify it, I will need to
assure more evidence.
9.
What have you
learned from your involvement in CAS?
I
have learned how to combine different part of CAS into a single event. Furthermore,
it taught me to actually find different bonuses from different areas in one
activity.
10.
How have you
used reflection to gain insights or understandings?
I
think I have answered the question in my mentions before.
11.
In what ways
have you especially enjoyed and learned from reflecting?
I
think I especially learned from reflecting as far as activity is concerned.
Making sure of my healthier lifestyle was actually crucial for my everyday
life. Not only did I learn a lot because of that but also at some point I began
to enjoy it.
12.
Do some of your
reflections include the four elements—what happened, how you feel, ideas and
questions?
I
think some of them do, although I must state that I will need to focus on the
four elements included in the future, as some of my reflections do not really
include it.
13.
Can you describe
a situation where reflection happened very naturally and easily? Did you have a
guided reflection opportunity that was helpful?
I
think, it was very natural and easy when I went out of the newly released ‘Joker’
movie. The structure of the film imposed some reflections on me. Furthermore
the reflections have flown even more as many of my friends had seen the movie
too, what resulted in us just commenting on the movie and discovering its
further aspects.
14.
Does your
collected CAS evidence show ongoing CAS involvement? Are there ways in which
this could improve?
I think
they do, my blog actually develops and the posts get more interesting, at least
in my opinion. Nonetheless, I think I could improve by more consistency as far
as posting is concerned.
15.
In what ways
have your CAS experiences, including your project, assisted you in achieving
one or more learning outcome?
It
can be stated that the healthy lifestyle I took up as a result of my CAS, made
me learn a lot about the influence of different things on my health. Firstly, I
learned how to cook in a manner that could benefit my health in a number of
ways and secondly I became more aware of what to do and what to avoid.
16.
Outline a skill
that you have strengthened or developed from engaging in a CAS experience.
I
think I have strengthened and developed my skill of organization. The
consistency needed during the regular posting, taking evidence and so on and so
forth was a real flashpoint for me to focus more on the organization in my
pursue of knowledge and everyday life.
17.
Explain
something that has happened in CAS that provoked some strong emotions (“I was
really excited when …”; “I was sad when …”; “I was really happy when …”).
I
was really excited and happy at the same time when I could develop a very
complicated and very emotional campaign in the online RPG games together with
some of my friends. Although it was not a single event but a very large
sequence of those meetings, actually it gave me a sense of achievement and
pride.
18.
Choose a learning
outcome and discuss your evidence of achieving it, and what stands out as most
significant and memorable.
I
think the biggest learning outcome was a change to my lifestyle, meaning the
already discussed development of my more healthy attitude. As far as evidence
is concerned, I have posted many different dishes and recipes that were very
crucial for my change. The outcome however, was very important for me in a way
that I began to feel better about myself and gained more energy I can spare
each day. Most significant and memorable was this improvement in my health, I
feel more energetic less sluggish or simply better.
19.
Five years from
now, describe what is likely to stand out as a highlight from CAS.
I
hope I will be able to keep my fit and healthy lifestyle for longer. Actually,
I am persuaded at the moment that it is something very important, as it has an
extremely positive outcome on one’s health. Therefore, I think that Five years
from now, I still want to be as healthy and actually keep my attitude towards fit
food and regular activity. It would be best, if I actually was able to futher
develop this attitude.
